Wendy Vecchi is a full time artist/designer, Exclusive Ranger Demo Artist, Certified Ranger Educator, and a proud design team member for both Maya Road and Tim Holtz Ideaology. Wendy loves to demo and teach at stores and events across the country and has been published in numerous publications. She will also be a guest instructor for the Artful Voyage in Mexico with Tim Holtz, in October of 2009.
Wendy also has her own signature line of stamps from Stampers Anonymous titled "Studio 490" (http://studio490art.blogspot.com) which capture her passion for art with a touch of whimsy. Her style is unique and eclectic with an exceptional attention to detail and a fresh approach to the creative spirit. She is releasing an idea book called "make art...Studio 490 Style" @ CHA this summer. She shares her love of techniques on her blog and reminds you that whatever you do each day just – "Make Art!"

How about those cute mini misters?? Why do I NEED a craft sheet? Want to try a new technique using white PIGMENT ink...combining it with your distress inks? What do I do with Perfect Pearls?

Wendy will share TONS of info and show you how to use your Distress Inks and Ranger products in this FUN...TECHNIQUES class. She will use the same format that was used at Ranger U. Each technique will be done on a manila tag, and you will leave with a set of tags that makes a wonderful reference for future play.
No note taking will be needed, as each tag will be labeled with full instructions on how each technique was done. We'll ink, distress, crackle, emboss & IRON....IRON?? Don't worry. Ironing is a GOOD thing if you're making art! This is a class you won't want to miss.

What do you get when you take a 4 inch Maya Road binder and add distress inks, studio 490 stamps, Grungeboard, Grungeboard, felt flowers, chipboard, tim’s idea-ology trinkets and MORE? You’ll end up with an adorable mini book that is bursting with goodies. It’s actually so fat that it won’t close. Just what I love . . . loaded!
In this fun class you’ll learn all about making CUSTOM embellishments, using inks, stamps and grunge. And if you LOVE flowers as much as I do…there’s one on every page! I hope you can join the fun. Just a warning. Once you play with Grungeboard/grunge paper . . . you'll be addicted. Trust me . . . it's true.
I'll supply everything needed to complete this album. In addition, each person will receive 2 large packages of Maya Road chipboard letters… in 2 different fonts, so we can mix and match. There will be plenty left for them to take home.
STUDENT SUPPLIES:

- Jet Black Archival Ink
- 3 Distress Inks . . . peeled paint, broken china or faded jeans and a brown color (vintage photo or brushed corduroy).
NOTE: I used brushed corduroy, peeled paint, and broken china for the sample.
- Blending Tools with Foam Pads
- Scissors for cutting Grungeboard . . I love Tonic Scissors
- Adhesive . . . I use Art Glitter glue
- Black Glaze Pen (Sakura)
- America Crafts Precision Pen for Doodling


4:30 PM - 6:30 PM - “Create a Memory Hanging” (2 hour class) - $40
To make the hanging that's pictured above, we'll use Tim Holtz distress inks, then stamp the Maya Road chipboard using studio 490/Stampers Anonymous stamps. We'll also make a fun dimensional flower using the new Grungepaper from Tim Holtz Ideaology. The finishing touch is the brand new Memory Capsule from Ranger, which is made to be a perfect fit for the Memory frame and Memory glass. Inside the Memory capsule is a metal flower...completing the mini collage. You'll leave with this fun hanging, which is a great gift . . . If you can stand to part with it. Come join the fun!

Are you ready to think outside the box?? Do you want to make a totally unique project? Would you like to venture into the world of mixed media with some help? Sound like fun . . . GREAT!
In this fun class, we’ll create an adorable and funky bird and take stamp art to the next level. You’ll be supplied with the bird and plenty of trinkets & charms to embellish this guy to your liking. Have a favorite charm that you’ve been hoarding? Get it out & bring it. Adorn your bird & enjoy that charm every day! I'll bring some organized trinkets and for those of you who like to dig . . There will be a HUGE box of treasures. We’ll start by making the wings from Grungeboard . . . a fun new product. You’ll choose the wing style you like, then add the embellishments of your choice. Want him to have a flower hat? Sunglasses? What will you put in his beak? The tail will be custom made too with Grungeboard . . . You’ll have lots of choices, to make this guy uniquely YOURS! At the end of this class, you’ll take home a ONE OF A KIND bird. Bring your camera . . . Each will be totally different because the possibilities are endless! Once home, you can take him off the base and add him to a different resting place. I’ll have some examples to show you in the class.
I WILL SUPPLY:
- The bird . . . the choices are cream, light yellow, light blue, but she/he can be altered with inks!
- Plenty of charms, jump rings, trinkets to complete this guy.
